A very productive day: We are now weather resistant!
The house wrap went up, accompanied by a few choice words, without too much trouble. This is one element of the project where we are accepting the fact that there are no real good options to go non-plastic/non-synthetic. We need the tiny house to have a trustworthy water barrier, so house wrap it is.
Next step, the roof sheathing. We put up sheets of 1/2″ plywood, staggering the seams as we went up to add that much more structural integrity. After the plywood was in place, we stapled down the felt/tar paper and placed 1×4 spacers to create a water/air barrier under the metal roofing. The 1-by’s also made for a nice place for feet as we danced all over the 12/12 pitched roof!
A huge THANK YOU goes out to Jeff Scruggs, Clark and Ander Mitchell, Mike and Becky Turley, Eric Brennan, Larry Davis, Lucia Hodges, and Alessa Brennan for the help today!!
